as I’m singing about it
There are so many
things that drift
around us
the most common
being dust
centuries old
it is stirred
and re-stirred
floating and drifting
visible only in sunbeams
perhaps some of the
dead skin cells
of even the
Neanderthals
shed eons ago
still drift in the air
we breath,
dust never sleeps!
but we drift off to sleep
and enter into our dreams
8 or so long hours
in another reality
seeing things that
can never be
and things that should
never be seen
dreamy eyes girls
or handsome guys
you have never met
and night mares that
leave you wanting to forget
what stalked you
in your dreams
I have always liked
taking a rubber raft
out into the ocean
to drift upon and feel the
endless motion
Un-tethered to the earth
gazing at the sky
Is a way of getting high.
a natural freedom
while you are a prisoner
to the elements
but oh, what sweet
embellishments it brings.
there are drifts in the desert
that the winds make into dunes
sometimes so high
that if you would to try to climb
them in a desiccated state
without water for six days
or any food upon your plate
you would never
make it down the slope
you would tumble to your fate
there are drifters
all across the earth
in unkempt clothes
and haggard faces
unshaven they all wander
they just can’t seem
to find the places
where they can settle down
moving from town to town
some are mostly
skin and bone
with no one to share
they travel everywhere
but they travel all alone
till they die without a home.
These are just a few
of the many forms of drifts
and if you close you eyes
to "Ingvar’s music’s",....his lovely riffs
you too will drift away
for just while with a big smile
and your mind can take anywhere
in a peace that’s undefiled
each note can
give your heart a lift
and let your soul take wings
to places you have never been
and when you come back down
