Description

The first time that I saw you
your beauty dropped me
like a rock
the second time I took a glance
I knew we had to talk

But you were
way out of my league
My feet and legs
they would not walk
and so I sat and
nursed my drink
and watched the
guys all flock
around you like
they had a chance
but they were
all just props....

Then your eyes
glanced at me
and stopped!!
and both of our
gazes were locked
yeah, both of our
gazes were locked.

I must have looked
ridiculous just staring
at your loveliness
but then you smiled
across the emptiness
making my heart go
Be-Bop bop bop bop bop
making my heart go
Be-Bop bop bop bop

Then the visions
in my head
of you and me
becoming lovers
were like a cinematic
classic in that club
in living colors....
In living colors

And as I stubbed
out my cigarette
I felt a little stunned
cause ladies seldom shared
such glances like
you had just done
like you had just done.

Then you
crooked a finger
that beckoned
me to come
to pay tribute
to your beauty?
and my brain came
all undone

Lost in your lovely eyes
and my body
it had left behind
decided it should rise,
decided it should rise,

Cause your invite was
dead on and left me
nowhere else to run
so I lit another cigarette.
and swallowed down my rum

Just some Liquid courage
when I crossed that room
to share your grace
I didn’t want to walk too. fast
and fall down on my face
so I rose up off my stool
deciding I would take a chance
to share some conversation
that might end up with romance.

"A man can dream can't He?"
"Man I was dreaming!"

And when I finally reached your space
A question crossed your lovely face
your ruby lips began to speak
and I felt my knees going weak
and so I hung on every word
but what you uttered was absurd
it was absurd!!!???

it dropped my soul
from heavenly heights
and broke my heart
that terrible night
when you held up a
fresh smoke you had plucked
out of your purse
and just my luck
you asked so
sweetly and polite

“I saw you smoking, Do you have a light?

"Oh well, ....what the hell?"

So I reached to
light your cigarette
and you thanked me
and then promptly left
bidding me adieu
in a cloud of smoke
leaving me behind
a bit heart broke.

And as you vanished out of sight
I realized passion would not ignite
I was just another prop
and you just needed a light.
Just another prop
and you needed a light.
another Saturday night
where fate left me
a long trip home
and still lonely.
a long trip home
and still lonely.

So i lit another cigarette
and headed out that door
wondering what the Hell
meeting women was for?

Just hours of sitting
on a hard bar stool
trying to be cool
and when a woman's
eyes meet yours
it doesn't mean
that you have found the cure
cause you'll probably be dropped
but at least you'll be stoned!!

but at least you'll
be stoned Yeaaaah!

It's just my story
There ain't no glory.

But at least I had a minute
where i thought that I was in it
and a woman so beautiful
Dropped me.
like a rock!

and I thank God
I was stoned
like a rock

and the I was
a rolling stone
back home...alone.....

"I'll see you next Saturday night,
Maybe it'll be all right!"
