Fly away Butterfly
cause it’s Autumn
and the Summer’s all done
there’s cocoons to be spun
and new caterpillars
awaiting the spring
after Hibernating
when they all
will take wings
Just imagine their dreams
Much like you once shared
to sail off of a tree branch
and soar everywhere~~~~~~\./
adding bright spots of color
Pastels beyond compare
I know that it’s sad but
soon you’ll find a dry leaf
and fold your weary wings
as you enter deep sleep
and become just a memory
once found
in the eyes of every child
who were awed by your beauty
as you flittered and fluttered
performing your duty
pollinating the flowers
all those long endless hours....
But autumn has come
and all the flowers are done
Oh, how I wish you could stay
through the fall and the winter
to brighten my days
but that’s not Natures way.
We all get only so
much time to play
and add our beauty
to the earth
from our moment of birth.
All of life is beautiful
but fragile as if our creator
the great designator
knew that fresh loveliness
must come back around
after seasons of cold
where all that was
has grown old
leaving stories untold.
And so newborns and butterflies
emerge to replace
all of life that has faded
and those bound for departure
are not sad cause they know
that they will not ever
have to die anymore.
They emerge from
death’s darkness
eternally young
where they beautify heaven
Under a permanent sun.
So when you close your eyes
for the very last time
and your antenna quiver
you are going be fine
there’s no need to be sad
no fears will make you shiver
you’ll be cupped in the palms
of the ultimate giver.
Your creator will
welcome you forevermore
to pollinate all the flowers
along heaven’s shores.
So fly away butterfly
your summers are done
your Autumn has come
but there’s so much left undone
and you have been blessed
as one of his chosen ones.
fly away and I’ll see you
again some day ……
when I too fly away……………..
