FOGGY WEATHER.
I like foggy weather
whenever I am feeling blue
Sunshine makes me sadder
a foggy day can match my mood
Cause it softens the harsh edges
as it grays my world and stretches
in clouds of sweet oblivion
hiding the grief I’m living in
the Fog can be my fondest friend
Sometimes I just don’t want to see
the distant views so troubling
I’d rather just be grumbling
when I’m all alone and stumbling
cause you’re not here with me
which really is quite puzzling
cause you chose to stop our coupling
though our love was meant to be.
You didn’t have a foggy notion
of what you sadly set in motion
condensing my devotion
into cold and dampening tears
now foggy weather brings me cheer.
And on sunny days I just drink beer
then I follow it with some shots
that bring my brain some fogginess
for all that I have not
which is soon enough forgot
as I stagger home to be alone
the sun is just a duller blot
as I accept that I have squat.

I walk on by too drunk to care
my drunken haze is so sublime

where the fog can stay for days
or I’ll buy myself a sauna

Over heated elements that form
clouds of tender warmth
like you once shared
back before your love was torn
when loving you it was the norm
now I’d rather share a storm
of foggy weather that will stay
