Guardian Angel.
I saw a woman
running down
the Boulevard
in fear of her life,
then a man
flew by me,
completely nude,
holding a butcher knife.
I put my truck in gear,
because it was very clear
that something wasn't right......
She kept looking back
and though she
saw me comng,
she kept on running,
so I ran my truck
up behind him
he could hear
my engine gunning
he kept on hunting...
He didn't give me a choice.
in my old, Dodge Ram,
so I helped him
meet some asphalt
with a mighty slam...
That asses phalt
was surely his own.
when he met his maker all alone
On a cold and starless night.
Then she turned back once and
smiled at me as she headed home.....
The cops interviewed me
for an hour or so,
but when they saw that knife,
they simply let me go.....
on that cold, cold, starless night....
Soon I got it in my head,
that I could make a difference....
apathy was all the latest rage,
and I could bid some criminals
"A permanent Good riddance!"
So I started cruising around
my town every night,
always looking for some trouble
that I'd help make right
just like some kind of noble,
modern day white knight.
I stopped two rapes and a murder,
interrupted six robberies,
then the morning news
gave me a handle,
"New York City's
Newest Vigilante. "
Till some meddling reporter
took a shot at me,
capturing me with
his Nikon lens,
as I was saving someone
being beaten,
and making another friend.
they printed my
picture in the paper,
which In hindsight
was really dumb...
and the very next night
as I patrolled the streets
a man shot me six times
with his gun.
When I woke up I was
surrounded by angels,
all looking down
and smiling at me,
then they gave me a set
of some beautiful wings
and sent me back to Earth to be....
The next Guardian Angel....
their next Guardian Angel.
So if you get in trouble,
and you need a hand
just think of me,
I'll be there in a jiffy,
with the master's plan,
to save you from becoming
the next Victim-to be----
yeah, I'll be there in a jiffy
to save you from,
the victim you might be.
