Last Breath.
My first breath brought
me into this world
with a sudden gasp and
asmack on my tiny ass
as the umbilical cord was cut
and into life I was hurled
though my Mom suffered
long labor, my birth was fast.
My first kiss was sheer bliss
although her lips
I almost missed.....
our noses got in the way
on that very special day
but we both got through it
and I just have to say
I would willingly relive
every day if I could
Cause her kisses
were good.
My first serious relationship
Had me sure
that we’d be married
but love doesn’t always tarry
It leaves scars
you have to carry
and now it lies buried in a
cobwebbed corner of my soul
But when I met you
I almost instantly knew
that your love would be true
Your kisses were like
fresh morning dew
to my thirsty soul
and that look eyes
when you realized
that you loved me
it restored my soul.
It was as if
the heavens opened
and sent all I was hoping for
and I didn't need anything more
I didn't need anything
baby ....anymore
We got married and
we honeymooned
in a place that made
this poor man swoon
you were a well off girl
I was a project kid
and I never enjoyed
anything like I did....
but it wasn’t your money
it was your lips like honey
that flipped my lid.
and we’ve spent so many years
full of laughter and some tears
but we overcame our fears
with a love so damn sincere
and I know one thing's very clear.
very, very clear.....
When I’m lying
on my deathbed
with you cradling my head
whispering sad "Goodbyes"
with my very last breath
I will whisper in your ear
how much I loved so, my dear
how I loved you, My dear
and as my soul prepares to fly
far away from you
till we meet again
up in paradise in the
heavens of your arms
with an eternity to spend
my last breath won’t mean any thing
Cause I’ll blessed with everything
that I’ll ever need forevermore
because I met you
and you shared

I so happy I met you
and I'll be happy
even when I'm gone
until you join me again
in the great beyond.....
