Paradise has many
shapes and forms
each person’s version
can be so diverse.
to some gambler
it’s a pair of dice
winning chips that
into cash convert
To many more it’s
a beach chair on a
tropical shore spending
endless days in the sun,
And to some it’s an all-you-
can-eat lobster buffet
where you are welcome
to come back for more,
cracking shells and suckling
the claws and tails until
your fingertips are sore
The Super Bowl
is paradise to some souls
when their team claims
victory with a final field goal
To a starving child it is sustenance
when they’ve spent much of
their lives enduring abstinence.
To a war, weary soldier
it’s eventual peace
as they head back
home to families
what a sweet release!
But there are other paradises
far more lovely to all
like when you hold
your newborn baby
so incredibly small.
Or when the eyes of a woman
catch your glance and smile,
and then she sits and talks to you
and in your mind you go “Wow!"
till you wind up in love
walking her down the aisle
knowing you will be in
paradise a long, long while.
But my truest idea of paradise
is when you look up at me
with such eager eyes
as our lips collide gently
in a long, sweet kiss
it’s sheer heaven on earth
It's my perfect bliss
and when we
share conversations
late at night in bed
you lead me from talking
to something better instead
I’ve found Hawaii in your arms
don’t need no sand and sun
You are my favorite vacation
and a lot more fun.
Don’t need a plane to reach you
don’t need a cruise
all I have to do is rollover

of anything thing
