This is a gruesome story
from the wild west days
where you had to watch your ass
or you’d be carried away
to a place called boot hill
where you’d be turned into bone
unknown and unmarked
and so far from your home
left as dust all alone…..
Sheriff Mephisto
was a beastly pig, ya know
he was a cruel, cold hearted man
he put a bullet in my leg
though I told the
truth and begged
that I did not know the plan
of a stage coach robbery
my friends had made
for forty days and nights
in his damn prison I lay
and I swore that I would
kill him when I got away
I would make that sheriff pay.
My bullet wound festered
even though I had pestered
Mephisoto to get help for me
and by the time the doc came
he said I’d wind up lame
cause my wound
it stunk of gangrene
and he took my leg
below the the knee
leaving me a cripple
with a cheap prosthetic
that never really
fit well for me
as I hobbled in
my cell so painfully
His jail yard was full
of other men he had killed
cause they simply refused
to admit to false guilt
The minute I was freed
I gathered all that I’d need
to pay that son of a bitch
for how he’d made me bleed
A chain and a bolt
and some strong manacles
and my colt he’d returned
that could fill him with holes.
Then I sought out a cave
frequented by a bear
I drove the bolts in the wall
and hung the chains
for him there
Then I waited till dark
when he left from his work
then I knocked him unconscious
falling hard to the dirt
I threw him up over
my horse with a long, loud grunt
then took off for that cave
because I'd finished my hunt
I'd finished my hunt
I left him chained to that wall
mocking him as he begged
then I fired one more bullet
that lodged in his leg
I gagged Him when I left
no one would hear him scream
when the bear came to eat him
or he died from gangrene
when the bear came to eat him

They say justice comes hard
for anyone truly guilty
and that sheriff he suffered
for his trying to kill me.
I was never even guilty
yet he still tried to kill me
and now he's dead himself
