Description

Just a campfire
and a guitar,
graced the shaggy
haired minstrel
that I was, wooing
her smokey blue eyes
with my smouldering gaze.
on that long ago
Summer night

She was swaying
like a gypsy,
caught up
in the rapture,
of our moments together.
and all my frets had blended
with the harmony of
two silhouettes
in the moonlight,
our shadows casting
unspoken promises
to a waiting tent.

We kissed between songs,
and I never played as well again
for such an interlude of bliss.

Our lips stretching for contact,
and melting together
between the sparks that
all flew heavenward,
from the fiery heat.

Eventually the
music faded,
in our sounds of
syncopated desires,
as we sought a duet
of love's whispering sighs
while the fire dwindled to
a soft orange glow.

Two weeks of
summer romance
that turned the paradise
of Black Moshannon,
and it's coal bottomed lake
into hot embers,
that layj ust east of its
white sandy beache....

Love comes and goes
Leaving scars but also
lovely memories
That we all cherish so
that we all cherish so.......
