I am a star traveler
since Neanderthal days
exploring the beauty
of the vast endless space
beyond the earth’s realms
I sit at the helm....
of my soul that took wings
and sometimes I’m overwhelmed
by my deep understanding
of this place with no ending
"it gets lonely out here!"
with no one for befriending
and it will go on I fear
with no point in pretending
Millions of empty planets
stars as my highway lights
with no need for a spaceship
on my eternal flights....
Sent out by the creator
whose pure energy feeds
my fleshless existence
I have no physical needs.
I was sent to plant seeds
and to introduce life
into worlds that lay barren
and sometimes I got it right
I’ve created Nirvanas
full of marvelous creatures
who have mastered the tasks
of becoming great dreamers.
Who’ve created a world
full of love and perfection
Living in harmony
without hate or aggression
But I bypass my failures
every chance that I get
Many nightmarish planets
that I just can’t forget
and you must know that I
regret most what I’ve done
on one most tragic planet
sitting third from its sun
Any visit’s too painful
to the place you call home
some there call me an angel
or an alien unknown
but the levels of hatred
and racism that poisons
the minds of so many
bring my eyes
tears that moisten
Each becoming ice crystals
forming a silver trail
as I flee from the clamor
of too many that wail.......
With complete disregard
for the needs of their planet
while it slowly lies dying
till their callousness damns it.
Once a marvelous jewel
one of God’s great possessions
flawed by too many fools
doomed by all their transgressions.
And I weep for the innocent
such a cost is too steep
for those who’ve done no wrong
facing eternal sleep.......
So I’ve sent one last warning
to two songwriter’s brains
in the hopes that this message
will bring much needed change
But I’ve probably failed
because my other warnings
failed to change hardened minds
who deny global warming!!
So I choose to not tarry
I am bound for deep space
I have seen far too many
lovely planets erased.
At some distance point
in the future unseen
I will return to what’s barren
and make everything green
Planting new seeds of life
starting fresh…a new dream.
