“When” is the eternal puzzle
it hangs like a hook
on a question mark
and the period below it
is the time I spend without you
When is a bend in the path we took
a hairpin curve when I awoke
to find you’d left me
with my heart broken
with all your reasons left unspoken
no clues to why and no damn note
when we could have
shared sweet morning passion
like we did last night
filled with satisfaction.
Was it just a mercy fuck?
ending our commitment
cause lately I’ve been noticing
your eyes sometimes grow distant,
Lately you’ve been hot and cold
leaving my soul all exposed
to your bluesy moods that
threatened to explode
but you kept your angst
tightly controlled,
till I was left here
pondering “Where did you go?”

when it comes to love

it would have been much easier

Then suddenly the doorknob turned
in the bedroom where I lay
and you appeared
….calming all my fears
and brightening my day,
with a pretty smile upon your face
refilling all my empty space
bringing back your beauty and your grace
with a bag of pastries, freshly baked
and two take-out coffees that you placed
near my bed to wash away the taste
of my doubting you,
a foolish mistake….
that too many lover’s make.
Cause we are all human
and we all get moody
when our faith gets shaken
and our thoughts so cruelly
get us thinking that our mates
are acting coolly
when their love is strong
and their feelings are truly
anything but sad and gloomy.
