We sat down with Amanda Abbott to discuss a brand new event in support of Worldwide Suicide Prevention Day, which is Saturday, September 10th. Bring the family out for a fun day on the water, at a non-race event. Our podcast covers everything you need to know about the event.

An event to expose people to paddle boarding and show how healing and therapeutic the water can be. This can be a new healthy outlet for a lot of people to get a release and connection through paddle boarding and the community. This is an opportunity to try paddle boarding for the first time or paddle the course - buoy’s will be setup.

Paddle to Raise Awareness, Paddle to Break the Stigma, Paddle in Honor of a Loved One, Paddle to Save Lives, Paddle to Stop Suicide!

There will also be a race at the end for corporate teams on 6 person boards. This event is sponsored by YOLO Board and there will be boards provided. If you are a seasoned paddler and want to do the course for the cause you are welcome to bring your own board as well. Park fee will be waived for this event and Pavilion E is reserved. Volunteers also needed, which is an option on the registration.

Check-in Time is a half hour before your time slot and each 30 min. time slot is open to 20 paddlers. First heat starts at 9:00am.

The Corporate race starts at 11:00am. This is meant to be a fun race and a way to get local businesses involved. The Corporate team registration is max 6 people per corporate team and the race will be on the larger SUP boards. The rate is $300 and all proceeds go to AFSP.

This is a special day for this event as September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day. Let's get involved and make a difference!
