Henrik Lundqvist talks to 540am Sportstalkny's Mark Rosenman and the media after his 450th career win.

Henrik Lundqvist made 43 saves to earn his first win of the 2019-20 season and the 450th win of his NHL career. By making his first appearance of the 2019-20 tonight, Lundqvist, who began his 15th season with the Rangers, passed Mike Richter for the most regular seasons with at least one appearance by a Rangers goaltender in franchise history, and he tied Richter for the most seasons with at least one appearance (regular season or playoffs) in Rangers history (Note: Richter appeared in at least one regular season game with the Rangers in 14 different seasons from 1989-90 – 2002-03 but made his NHL debut during the 1989 Stanley Cup Playoffs). Lundqvist also became the seventh player (skater or goaltender) to appear in a regular season game in at least 15 different seasons with the Rangers in franchise history, along with Rod Gilbert (18), Brian Leetch (17), Harry Howell (17), Ron Greschner (16), Jean Ratelle (16), and Ott Heller (15). He started in a season-opening game with the Rangers for the 14th consecutive season (dating back to 2006-07). According to NHL Stats and Information, Lundqvist is the second goaltender in NHL history who has started at least 14 consecutive season-opening games with the same franchise (Martin Brodeur – 18 straight with New Jersey). Lundqvist is the sixth goaltender in NHL history who has earned at least 450 career wins (and the second to do so with one franchise), and he is now four wins away from tying Curtis Joseph (454) for fifth place on the league’s all-time wins list. Lundqvist’s 43 saves are tied for the most a Rangers goaltender has made in a season-opening game in franchise history (tied with Gump Worsley; 43 saves on Oct. 7, 1955 at Chicago). He made at least 40 saves in a regular season game for the 34th time in his NHL career; he has posted a 19-6-9 record, along with a 2.00 GAA, a .955 SV%, and 4 SO (courtesy of NY Rangers PR)
