Jay Hook was a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball over an eight-season career, he won 29 games while striking out 394 batters in 752.2 innings pitched., He was acquired by the New York Mets in the 1961 MLB Expansion Draft, and 55 years ago he won the first game in Mets franchise history. as he pitched a five-hit 9–1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Forbes Field, giving his team its first regular-season victory after nine defeats. In that season he won 8 games for the Mets,which accounted for 20% of the teams wins and he led the team in complete games (13) and games started (34) he joins Mark And AJ 55 years later to talk about that first win.
