Patrick Durkeee grew up in Minnesota as a passionate collector of baseball cards, and played every baseball game available (Strat o Matic, APBA, Pursue the Pennant). As a kid,he always wished that someone would come out with a game like all of those, which actually incorporated player cards with images (as opposed to the pieces of cardboard with just text and numbers). When MLB Showdown came out,hewas immediately hooked, but very sad to see it go away after only a few years.
For the next 20 years, he worked as a corporate tax accountant, but always held on to this dream. In late 2013,He started to put the wheels in motion to make this a reality, and began working to obtain a license. By the spring of 2015, his license with the MLBPA had been finalized, and he could begin production, and here we are now!
The game is currently for sale on our website (platinumseriesbaseball.com), on Amazon, at local baseball card shops, and beginning August 28th, will be available at Wal-Mart and Toys R Us. She joins Mark and AJ to talk about it all.
