Description

Steve Garvey is one of the greatest players in Dodger history — he was part of the legendary Dodger infield, he was the 1974 All-Star Game and National League MVP, the 1978 All-Star Game and National League Championship Series MVP, a four-time Gold Glove Award winner and 1981 World Series champion. Over a 19-year career, he batted .294 h with 272 home runs and 1308 RBIs. He  holds the National League record for most consecutive games played at 1,207.He is a member of the Irish American Hall of Fam, the Michigan State University Athletics Hall of Fame. His No. 6, worn when he was both a Padre and Dodger, is retired by the Padres. .He was inducted into the Dodgers team hall of fame, Legends of Dodgers Baseball, as part of their inaugural class in 2018. In 1981, Lawrence Ritter and Donald Honig included him in their book The 100 Greatest Baseball Players of All Time. I
