Steve Seftel who was born in Kitchener, Ontario where he starred as a Midget with the hometown Greenshirts and with the OHL's Kingston Canadians. He was taken 40th overall by the Washington Capitals s in 1986 and scored a personal high 32 goals during his last junior season in 1987-88. During his first two pro seasons he established himself as a two-way hard working forward with the Baltimore Skipjacks of the AHL. In 1990-91 he was recalled for four NHL Games and notched 22 goals in the minors. Injuries limited him to 18 games the next season and forced him to retire.He tells his story about his hockey odyssey and passion for the game in a tremendous new book Shattered Ice.
