Wayne Garrett played his high school ball in Sarasota, Florida, before following his older brothers, Adrian and James, into the Milwaukee Braves' farm system. He was selected by the Mets On December 2, 1968, in the Rule 5 draft , He made his major league debut at second base, and played most of his first month in the majors there, it wasn't long until the 21 year old rookie lefty hitter settled into a lefty-righty platoon with Ed Charles at third base. He would go onto play 8 seasons with the Mets, he is a member of the 1969 Miracle Mets and the 1973 You Gotta Believe Mets, He joined Mark And AJ to remember the life of the Glider Ed Charles,
