As Andrew Dare is called away to resolve a pack problem in Alaska, Silver is met with big challenges as co-alpha of the Roanoke pack, both from Andrew's daughter, Felicia; and from squabbling over the right of a pregnant sub-alpha to continue her role as leader. Silver will have to draw on her inner strength, possibly beyond her ability to return to herself, in order see them all through.
