As I was composing this piece the image of the story of Inanna and Tammuz came to me... in short, Inanna is the wife of a God, Tammuz, the God of spring, fertility, creativity, the vegetable God; and he dies, and the world is terrified and Inanna goes down into the fire and death and amongst loathesome creatures that fear light and day, and she brings him back. The sound of the flute with it`s rattle like strike is one of her voices. She, of course, is also a god.
