In the book of Joshua, God’s people cross the Jordan River into the Promised Land, and God commands them to take twelve stones from the riverbed to build a memorial. These stones serve as a permanent reminder for future generations. The message is clear: when children see the stones and ask, “What do these stones mean?” the people will tell the story of God’s faithfulness in bringing them to the Promised Land. This final Sunday in October, Grace marks our 25th birthday. And that question becomes, “What story will we tell?” The Rev. Dr. Sallie Watson is with us today, challenging us to tell the story and build something beautiful for generations.
