Long delays may sometimes cause us to doubt that our prayers will ever be answered at all. But the very first thing the angel says to Zacharias is, "Fear not. . .the prayer is heard." No doubt the angel was referring to their years of desperate prayer that God would give them a child. We may pray and pray, and it may seem that no one is listening. But as with Zacharias, it may be that God has something miraculous He wants to do in His time. Keep praying! Delay does not always mean denial!
