I was born in Cles (Italy) in 1981.
My photographic practice combines a documentary approach with personal narratives, which do not aim at illustrating and describing literally, but rather at interpreting by attributing new meanings to everyday elements.
Since 2009 I have concentrated my personal work in the Balkans, with a special focus on Bosnia Herzegovina, Romania and Albania. In several of my long-term projects my aim has been to observe these territories from an emotional, cultural and geopolitical point of view and to explore and relate the concepts of identity, memory and landscape.
I combine my personal projects with assignments and editorial orders.
Since 2011 I have taught photography. I specialize in tutoring long-term projects and also give classes in the history of photography, image theory and aesthetics.
I am co-founder and a teacher at El Observatorio, a space based in Barcelona and devoted to photographic creation, a didactic laboratory specializing in photography and visual narrative.
