Description

I obtain the pictures by condensation; let's say that some pictures lead me to others. Although I start from ideas and keywords, I go towards the image by a more indirect route.

I consider my initial stage of training important, and I believe that photographers, as we educate ourselves, develop languages and perspectives on the world. It's not a matter of style in the aesthetic sense. It's not about saying, "I like more rhythmic compositions," no. All that is formal content, formal expression, is disparaged by our society because it doesn't easily conform to its rational codes. It is difficult to transfer that concept and yet in the form, if we talk about images, a lot of knowledge about the world is encrypted, compressed, included, expressed in that way.

I've been capturing images and looking at them extensively; I examined them, selected them, edited them, and thought about which ones were useful to me, even without knowing where I was headed. That work, for me, is a significant part of the process. I greatly enjoy taking images, but editing is the key to my work. In this trial and error, I try to think about the image with visual thinking, more intuitive, and finally there is this match, this relationship between the key words and the images, I find connections that generate new meanings. Often it is not until later that I have consciously understood what has happened in this process.
