Description

There is no denying it. I am an incurable romantic. I am convinced that emotion is a central element of the photograph. Paradoxical as it is, emotion itself is not a visible property of the image. It is something that the viewer attaches or projects to it. Photographer can never transfer her or his inner feelings to the viewer. The viewer is an independent human being. Formal esthetic and technical qualities are important too. Nonetheless, for me they are secondary. I believe that composition, lighting, tonal range and other technical aspects are irrelevant if the picture lacks emotional impact, a momentum. Without emotional investment formally excellent picture can feel ultimately meaningless.
