"I started this project while I was on vacation at my aunt’s, and after a couple of days in the village, I began to notice that they are never in a hurry because time works for them and not the way around. They were always calm, and when they were working, it was a sort of meditation. I wanted to document life in the village, so I started roaming around. During that time, I met almost every resident in the 42 villages and learned about nature and various philosophical aspects of living. Photography has matured and educated me over the years, I like to follow people through time and observe them. When I’m photographing, I am trying to find these rare moments where I feel illuminated by light, gestures, and stories, when I feel completely silent, and there is nothing between me, the camera, and the subject. Through my deep and intimate engagement with my subjects, I am trying to produce work that is poetic, vivid, and impactful. (...)"
