"Advent is about meeting Christ anew. It's about taking one more step in our humanity," Father Perry tells us in his homily for Thursday of the Third Week in Advent and the 16th episode of our Advent podcast. "We've been rescued. That cross says it all: We've been rescued from sin. We've been taught how to be human in the face of all inhumanity. Jesus showed it on the cross. He should have hated, he could have hated, but he didn't. He loved, he forgave, and that's an incredible message of life and an incredible message of what it is to be human."
