"We are being asked to check out the bareness, the desertedness in us, the place that is not bearing fruit," Father Perry tells us for the 23rd episode of our Lenten podcast. "We call that sin. The place that is not bearing fruit, it's often a kind of an ignorant place, ignorance and just emptiness. But it's also a place of great stubbornness. Let the word of God enter in and change us. The most fruitful thing that we can possible do during this Lent is to find our bareness, the part where we are not producing fruit."
