"The word would have us believe it is just a matter of following laws, albeit God's law," Father Perry tells us for the second episode of our Lenten podcast. "On one level, that might be so. But I think it might be a bit deeper than that and a little more mysterious and mystical and filled with paradox. At a very deep level, and in a very mystical way, we have to give our lives away. We gave to 'hate our lives' and be willing to put the life of another before our own."
