"I think Jesus in all of this is trying to grab into us our ascent. Grabbing into us and calling us to something more," Father Perry tells us for the 25th episode of our Sunday Homilies podcast. "And if he says, 'eat my body, and drink my blood' and we just eat the host, OK, but there's something much more. After we eat this host and we are very tangibly, physically eating something, it is to easy to go to that spiritual level of eating something — eating the presence, the words, the love, all of the invitation that Jesus gives us."
