"Especially, through celebration, are coming to know Christ more fully so that we can bring Christ in the world. That's the whole picture," Father Perry tells us for second episode of our Sunday Homilies podcast, and our celebration of the Second Sunday of Advent. "We come here just to be restored. We come here for God to speak through his word, and speak through our prayer, and speak through our praise, and speak through our music, and speak to the silence of our hearts. And when that happens to us, we're doing exactly as this word says: We're tearing down the old, and the broken, and the messy, and the confused, and the sinful, so that we can open a highway to God, a road that is so clean and straight and level that God can rush into our lives, right into our hearts, and make us the holy people he's called us to be."
