"The whole church must be engaged today in bringing peace to the world," Father Mike Java tells us for the 32nd episode of our Sunday Homilies podcast, for our celebration of the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time. "You know for us, in whatever circumstances we may live, working for peace means welcoming people close to us. People who are among us or who annoy us and disagree with us. People who provoke anguish within us. To take the path of peace is actually to accept people as we are, without limitations, with their weaknesses. Jesus clearly commands us: Love your enemies."
