"Whatever you want to offer to God is nothing compared to what he wants to pour into your life," Father Perry D. Leiker, pastor, tells us for the 35th episode of our Sunday Homilies podcast, for our celebration of the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time. "What's most important isn't what we do, it's what God does. Like the scripture says: 'It's not that you loved God, it's that God loved you first' [1 John 4:19]. And if we recognize that in every moment of our day, if we're just receptive — we don't have to do much at all; just be receptive — if we just surrendered, opened up, became alert, aware: 'God, you are always here to enrich me, love me; fill my life' — this is what God will give to us."
