"When we get out of alignment, we have all kinds of problems," Father Perry asks us in the 37th episode of our Sunday Homilies podcast. "We have anger and hatred and jealousy and prejudice and rude behavior. And we have to realign. That's what laws and rules are supposed to do, keep this alignment clean. But the other alignment is vertical. This is ourselves in the universe, ourselves and God. It's not about individual laws and rules; it's an alignment, where we have this sense of the energy and love and the grace of God flowing into us and our response to it."
