By Father Perry D. Leiker, pastor
"Maybe this is a way of dragging us into and away from just simply recognising Jesus in his birth, but most of all recognising him in all the preaching and teaching he did as he began his public ministry when he was 30," Father Perry tells us for the seventh episode of our Sunday Homilies podcast, and our celebration of the Baptism of the Lord. "We're telling the story of Jesus 30 years later. I think that this Gospel is story more about the Holy Spirit and what the Holy Spirit was doing there — being sent by the Father — than about the baptism in itself."
