Portamento is a London based Producer & DJ who makes shimmering and downbeat House music. Initially intended as a project to perform remixes for friends and artists, Portamento eventually collaborated and composed Dance infused music with a number of vocalists bringing a song like structure to the genre, utilising modern recording techniques alongside the use of analogue Drum Machines and Synths. Portamento has been described as a combination of ‘Lush reverb soaked vocals, juxtaposed with dirty and at times blip-based House beats, with a foot in Indie as much as electronic music’. In 2017 Portamento achieved a top10 hit on the Beatport House charts with his first release ‘Neon Lover’ (Feat. HANNIE) on Coldwave records, and a top 50 release for his second release 'Poble-Sec' (released on New York label 'Open Bar Music), an Afro-House song with a strong 4 to the floor beat juxtaposed with a Tanzanian Vocal sample from 1950. Portamento regularly DJs in the Uk and enjoys playing Nu-Disco, House and Downbeat music, often bringing synthesizers and drum machines to the dancefloor.
