Ali Riaz, drawing on his new book Voting in a Hybrid Regime: Explaining the 2018 Bangladesh Election, will argue that Bangladesh's election played out in a hybrid system—combining both democratic and authoritarian traits. Dr. Riaz will discuss what this means for Bangladesh and for the growing numbers of hybrid regimes around the world.
