O Lord, you have been a true lover of man,
because you have made me,
the most beautiful of women.
I swear by your love for me that I will do your will,
even though it may be contrary to my own.
When you sent your prophet in the midst of Israel,
God, you gave a holy spirit to him,
and it moved him as you wish.
And you said to him: "Go and say to this people:
'I am an angel of God, going before you in your way,
to make you holy,
to make you a covenant for the people,
a declaration of the promise you have given to Abraham,
and to bring you back from Egypt.
I will bring you to the land that God swore to your father,
Abraham, to give to you,
and you will inherit it forever
