Decoding the Universe - Part 23
"The Limits of Infinity"
With Rabbi Ari Sollish
(Recorded live at the Intown Jewish Academy on May 5, 2019)
The Jewish G-d is beyond description. Beyond image. Beyond limits. Hence, the rationale behind the Biblical prohibition of ascribing any form to G-d.
The Kabbalists take this further. G-d is not merely beyond. G-d is beyond beyond. Infinity, in its own way, is likewise a limitation. And G-d is not limited to unboundedness either.
This serves as the starting point for limitation and definition, which marks our created reality. And it forms the nexus between infinite and finite, Creator and created, spirit and matter.
In this session of Kabbalah & Coffee we explore the paradox of being and discover the infinite in the finite, and the finite in the infinite.
