Decoding the Universe - Part 31
"Paradox"
With Rabbi Ari Sollish
(Recorded live at the Intown Jewish Academy on July 28, 2019)

There's an inherent tension when it come to studying Kabbalah. Sure, the more you study the more you know. But at the same time, the more you know the more you realize how much you don't know.

Take G-d's relationship with creation, for example. Kabbalah teaches us that G-d is so much "higher" -- loftier, transcendent -- than creation, to the point that the created realms cannot at all relate to G-d. That makes sense. But then Kabbalah teaches us that G-d is "one" with everything within creation, and that there is nothing outside of G-d. How can G-d be both "higher than" and "one with," at the same time?

Ah, one of the great paradoxes of G-d. And the subject of this session of Kabbalah & Coffee.
