February 26, 1979. That was the last time a total solar eclipse was seen from the United States. And it's happening again on Monday, August 21, 2017.
There's a buzz surrounding the eclipse. People are talking about it, planning trips to get the best views, and buying special eclipse eyewear to view it safely.
But what is the spiritual message in the eclipse? After all, the mystics teach that everything that happens has a deeper message that can practically inform our lives. So what can we learn from a solar eclipse?
