Learning How to Love - Part 21
"Self-Awareness"
With Rabbi Ari Sollish
(Recorded live in Atlanta on April 12, 2020)
We know the importance of self-awareness. We know that it's profoundly healthy to be aware of ourselves -- our character, feelings, desires -- and recognize which of those are healthy and which need some inner work.
But what are the origins of self-awareness? When did human beings first look inward to identify and label what lies under the hood of their personas?
The Torah tells us the origin story of self-awareness. It is perhaps the strangest story ever told. It is a story that spans thousands of years, contains incredibly colorful characters, and has moments of ecstasy and moments of agony.
And, of course, the teachings of Kabbalah completely reshape everything we know about self-awareness.
In this very special Passover edition of Kabbalah & Coffee we'll be taking a deep dive into the spirit-psychology of self-awareness to discover truths about ourselves that we've never known.
