Learning How to Love - Part 9
"Soul Running"
With Rabbi Ari Sollish
(Recorded live at the Intown Jewish Academy on January 19, 2020)

There are certain realities that are a part of the fabric of nature. Flames, for example, always flicker upwards. No matter how you turn a candle, the flame defies gravity and soars above, yearning for its spiritual source.

The same is true with souls. Souls naturally pull above, away from the body, and toward their spiritual source.

Yet, there is a counteracting force -- a force that pulls the soul back down below and fuels the experience we call life.

This tension is hinted in the prophecy of Ezekiel, where he says, "The living creatures run and return like the appearance of lightning." Life itself is the experience of running and returning. Soaring above and returning below.

In this session of Kabbalah & Coffee we explore the nature of soul running, and discover why returning just might be the best running of all.
