It is so important in this fast paced technological world, to not lose ourselves and our sense of self. Not to identify too much with our job and position. You are not a lawyer. You are a Jew (Or a gentile) with a soul, and a name. And you spend time every day providing law services, but you are not a lawyer. YOU are not a doctor. (Even though everyone knows that Jewish Lawyers and Jewish Doctors are the best :)
It is so important to meditate, to do hitbodedut, and discover who you really are. To be spiritual and holy doesn't mean to live a life of sacrifice and destitution, it means to be kind, to be generous, to be happy, to be warm and loving, to be responsible and and honest. That is what makes you holy. Your honesty that you will have while standing in front of God and talking to him, and being willing ot admit in front of God all of your spiritual deficiencies and shortcoming, and the motivation and willpower to work on them and improve - that is what makes you holy. Your spiritual honesty and integrity. Your work that you put in every day to make your soul shine more and more every day to those around you. That is what God really desires from us.
