Faith, is in the nights. The masters of faith are masters of dealing with the nights. We see that Abraham challenged God and asked Him for proof that his children would indeed inherit the land of Israel. And so Hashem told him that as a result of him asking, all of his children will slaves in Egypt for 400 years, an go through a literal holocaust over there, and if that happens, so that’s how he will know that the jewish people will inherit the land of Israel. God wanted our forefather Abraham to trust him without question! Abraham had seen so many miracles in the past, but that shows us that miracles don’t build faith. Because the second we are in the next spiritual test, we again struggle with our faith, no matter how many times we have seen miracles. Faith is built and bought and developed through test after test in the nights, and through counting on God and finding God in every situation that you go through, again and again, and every time you buy another piece of faith, and another little piece, that is how faith (Emunah) is acquired. We have to remember that we have incredibly spiritual souls, that are tied to the infinite, and we can count on God in every single situation, we just have to remember to pray! Every situation, we have a link to the infinite Creator with our souls, and we need to remember that we can count on Him for everything! He loves us, we need to be confident in our belief of God’s love for us, just like Moses was.
