Published on Sep 22, 2016Many people can sit in the same class, from the same Rabbi, and everyone there will be very inspired and uplifted, except for one person. What is different about that person? How come he didn’t hear the same inspirational message that everyone else in that torah class heard? The answer lies in the secret to understanding your rabbi. Spiritually, you can only receive that which you have prepared the vessels for to contain. So if people have prepared their spiritual vessels to open up their heart to be inspired, and the Rabbi is speaking inspiring and honest words from heart to heart, so the students will receive the proper inspirational message from the rabbi, and will be inspired and feel uplifted. But if a person comes to that same class with only his brain open, in an arrogant attempt to fill his brain with more knowledge, then that is the vessel that he has prepared, and he will have a vessel that fits the shape of what the rabbi is teaching.
