En Plein Publiek is a series of 4 soundscapes for 'Soundpiece' - a loudspeaker installation underneath the Schouwburplein (square in front of the Municipal Theater) in Rotterdam. The four pieces are based on sound recordings of other squares in the city of Rotterdam, made during the summer of 2011.
Please take note that the pieces were specifically made for playback on Soundpiece in the public space, mixing and merging with the ever present live sound of the city itself.
The soundscapes are very subjective portraits of these places and the summer of 2011. They range from very concrete and documentary to more abstract.
This is the third part, which is based on the Zuidplein.
