Miles Copeland isn't just the older brother of drummer Stewart Copeland of The Police. Miles Copeland has been a manager, a concert promoter, and the founder of IRS Records. This was a record company that signed and distributed music some of the most important bands in the 1980's and 90's. This roster included REM, The GoGo's, English Beat, Buzzcocks, Squeeze, and (of course) The Police. His new memoir "Two Steps Forward, One Step Back" will be released this summer. It's a fascinating book that not only talks about the music--but also about being raised abroad by one of the founding members of the CIA! Very interesting stuff!
