Description

After Jesus was taken to the home of Caiaphas, the high priest, the Jewish leaders took him before Pilate, the governor of the ruling Roman Empire. And it’s here that Jesus enters “the system.” Jesus is wholly unknown to Pilate. He has no status, or standing. As Jesus is mocked, belittled, physically beaten, and uncaringly sentenced to death, there is an invitation for us to deeply connect with the injustice of his experience, and, by extension, the injustice of the experiences of our neighbors.
