Idaho’s reading scores are rising, with 71% of K-3 students now reading at grade level. State Superintendent Debbie Critchfield credits teachers’ efforts and says continued support is key to keeping progress going. She plans to expand phonics training and provide more reading coaches in classrooms, supported by new state funding, to ensure teachers have the tools they need to help all students succeed.
